Room Hire

Walworth Methodist Church has two halls and a number of smaller meeting rooms available to hire. In addition the church sanctuary is available for the solemnization of weddings, funerals, memorials, thanksgiving services and concerts. Step-free access is available to all rooms for hire and there are accessible toilets in the foyer area.

Booking can be made online through the Hallmaster booking software, through the links on this page, which will also show the availability of the rooms for any particular date and time.

A booking made through Hallmaster is provisional only until a confirmatory invoice has been sent and paid.

The premises can be hired Monday to Saturday 10am to 10pm, and Sundays 3pm to 10pm, with the exception of the Vic Watson Conference Centre which can be hired until 12midnight. When booking, please allow sufficient time for setting up your event and cleaning up afterwards.

In addition to the hire fee there is a deposit of £300 for the two main halls, which is refundable providing the event runs to time and the hall is left clean and tidy.

Use of any of our rooms is subject to our terms and conditions. In particular, please note that alcoholic beverages are not permitted on our premises.

Please be aware that we always have at least one security officer on the premises during events, however we reserve the right to risk assess the event and charge for additional security if we feel it is necessary.

Discounted rates may be available to Walworth Church Members and if making multiple bookings – any adjustments will be made at the issuing of the invoice.

VIC WATSON CONFERENCE CENTRE
(THE ‘THEATRE’)

Built as a small theatre with stage, the Conference Centre can accommodate 200 people (160 if seated at tables). There are twelve 6’ diameter round tables and a number of rectangular tables available for use. There is a small kitchen with a hatch which is suitable for serving drinks and light refreshments. Stage lights, hall lights, projector and PA system are all available and can be hired for an additional cost of £50 per item.

The cost of hiring the Conference Centre is £85 per hour or £1,100 for a whole day, plus a refundable deposit of £300.

JIMMY BUTTERWORTH HALL (THE ‘CANTEEN’)

This is our largest hall and can accommodate 230 people (180 if seated at tables). There are twelve 6’ diameter round tables and a number of rectangular tables available for use. There is a large commercial-style kitchen and a counter for food service.

Cost of hiring the Jimmy Butterworth Hall is £75 per hour or £850 for a whole day, plus a refundable deposit of £300.

KITCHEN

The KITCHEN can be hired separately for food preparation for £50 per hour (Providing the hall is not in use.) 

MEETING ROOMS

We have three rooms available for hire for meetings and smaller events: the Norman Grigg (‘Blue’) Room (capacity 40), John Chambers (‘Green’) Room (capacity 30) and the Resource Centre (capacity 20). These are £30 per hour.

THE CHURCH SANCTUARY

For weddings, funerals, memorials and thanksgiving services the all-inclusive rate is £400 per event. This includes the minister and organist fees. Use of the church sanctuary is at the discretion of the ministers and we suggest that before hiring the church permission is sought by emailing ministry@walworthmethodist.org.uk
